25 | On 9/11/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ocegueda conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of inspecting a bedroom and back yard that licensee is requesting to use for care. LPA met with licensee Mayra Ruiz Reyes. Today, LPA inspected these areas, toured the facility and took a census.
LPA inspected the bedroom off the front entrance labeled “office” on the facility sketch. LPA observed child furniture and an oval shaped crib. The crib had no blankets or toys inside. LPA reminded licensee to use crib and equipment as intended per manufacture guidelines. LPA also observed a filing cabinet approximately 5 ft in height. Licensee stated she was in the process of removing the cabinet. The room has carpet floors that were clean and safe. There are mini blinds in the bedroom. The mini blinds have a string that hangs low when the mini blinds are raised up. All outlets were covered, and the closet doors had a child safety lock to prevent children from opening it. The office/bedroom will be approved pending photos of the room without the filing cabinet or of it being anchored and a photo of a hook next to the window that licensee will use to hang the string from the mini blinds to prevent any hazards to children.
LPA also inspected the back yard today that was deemed off limits. Outside, LPA observed that the yard was enclosed and that there was artificial grass and cement covering the ground. Safe and clean play equipment was observed. Outside was a small dog and a tortoise inside a metal tub. Licensee indicated that neither animal is aggressive nor have not been known to bite. LPA reminded licensee to adequately supervise children around pets and that she is responsible should her pets cause any injuries to children. Today, LPA inspected the yard and determined it was safe for use of day care children.
Today, LPA collected a copy of updated facility sketch showing that the back yard and “office” are accessible.
LPA conducted an exit interview with licensee. Per Title 22, Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiency is cited. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit will be posted for 30 days.
