25 | On 07/16/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jose Penate conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Laura Lopez and Assistant. Days/Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 5:00AM to 4:00PM. This facility is licensed as a large facility of 14, there must be an additional qualified staff person present anytime the facility goes beyond the ratio for a capacity of eight.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the living room, dining room, hall bathroom and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door lock. On today’s inspection licensee requested to have newly converted master bedroom into the daycare room approved by LPA for licensor. LPA inspected the newly converted daycare room and no items that are hazardous were present, and safe toys were observed for children in care. LPA confirmed with licensee that the living room, dining room and hallway bathroom will no longer be on the license for children to use, licensee confirmed, and she stated that she will submit a new facility sketch with approved rooms for daycare children to use. The new areas accessible to children will be the Daycare room, restroom located in daycare room, and fenced backyard. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a wood board and will not be in use during day-care hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 428-5219.
