| Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Director Anna Pena. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 1826 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 48 preschool children at a time. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in the classroom. Director understands that children's equipment needs to match the capacity she is licensed for. Toys and equipment appear to be age appropriate. There are a total of 6 toilets, 1 urinal, and 10 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity of 48 preschool children.
The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 30780 which will accommodate requested capacity of 48 preschool children. The preschool play area is gated all around. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, and two climbing equipments. The climbing structures are covered by tents to provide shade. Applicant is using rubber pour to cushion fall zones. LPA reminded Director Anna Pena, to provide adequate supervision at all times.
A fire clearance of 48 consisting of 48 preschool children was received on 11/15/2023. Fire clearance was approved by Bakersfield City Fire Department Fire Prevention.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
LPA reviewed with Director Anna Pena, the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
