25 | On 02/13/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Pizano conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with Teacher Kashmir Flores, toured the facility, and took a census. The purpose of today’s inspection was to discuss an incident that was reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL) on 02/01/2024.
Director stated that on 01/30/2024, Child 1 was running outside in the playground area when he tripped and fell on his arm. First aid was administered and Child 1’s parent was notified. Parent decided not to pick up the child until end of day. On 01/31/2024, Parent took Child 1 to the urgent care as his arm was still hurting him and was diagnosed with a fractured elbow. Child 1 was released and returned to care on 02/05/2024 with a cast. LPA observed Child 1 currently still has a cast on his arm. LPA discussed supervision at the time of the incident, and it was determined that appropriate supervision was in place. Staff will continue to remind children to be careful when playing outside. LPA inspected the area where the incident took place and did not observe any safety hazards or areas of concern.
This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address the child’s injury, following appropriate policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
No deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.
A copy of this report to be made available to the public upon request.
