25 | On 04/24/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nancy Her and conducted an unannounced case management inspection and met with Site Supervisor Silvia Fernandez. The purpose of this inspection is toconsolidate to a single license to include the toddler component, which previously was assigned to facility 153801219 and 153801706.
A tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. This is a change of capacity and the applicant is requesting 80 preschool children ages 2-6 and 48 toddler option children ages 18 months to 3 years. This program will operate year-round. This program will operate year-round Monday – Friday, 7:15 am – 5:15 pm. The preschool program will operate in classrooms A, B, C, D, E. The Toddler Option will operate in classrooms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The infant program will operate in classrooms 3 and 4.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
Silvia Fernandez stated that the center will provide breakfast, lunch and a PM snack. The kitchen has been made inaccessible to children in care. There is hot running water in the kitchen. Staff will utilize the staff bathroom. Ill children will be isolated in the isolation area in the staff office in each classroom as well as the front office.
The classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. The shelving units are not anchored to prevent tipping onto children in care. There are enough tables, cubbies, chairs, mats and plenty of toys for children to play. LPA also reminded Site Supervisor to not store anything on top of high bookcases that could potentially fall on children. There are working combination smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in classrooms, located on the ceiling.
