| School Age Indoor Activity Space:
The total indoor activity space measures 244 square feet, which will accommodate 6 school age children.
LPA observed a total of 4 sinks and 4 toilets available for preschool children’s use, and 2 sinks and 1 toilet for school age children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 55 preschool children and 6 school age children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the office.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is at least four feet high.
Preschool Outdoor Activity Space:
The total outdoor activity space measures 4,355 square feet, which will accommodate 55 preschool children.
School Age Outdoor Activity Space:
The total outdoor activity space measures 1,438 square feet, which will accommodate 6 school age children.
Shade is provided via patio coverings. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking water is available via reusable water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground(s) to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Ms. Velez was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
Facility will provide AM/PM snacks. Lunch will be prepared off site and brought to the facility. Meals are eaten in their classroom.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP).
