| On 05/07/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christopher Burnias and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Luisa Gavoutian conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Naomi Murillo. Also present was licensee’s assistant Andrew Garcia. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, bathroom, living room, Room 2, and Day Care Room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of lever locks.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and metal screen and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed, however LPA observed a playhouse with small damage caused by biting from the Licensee’s dog. In addition, it was observed that the plastic covering the chain harness on the swing was broken and worn from sun damage. Licensee was informed that these damages could potentially cause injury to a child and was advised to have the damaged items fixed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 636-7502.
