25 | On June 16, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valentin Hernandez met with Licensee Brenda Alcazar for a licensee-initiated case management inspection. The licensee’s assistant was also present. The licensee requested approval to add a partial backyard area (Nuevo patio de juego/New playground as labeled in the updated facility sketch) as an accessible area for the day care home. LPA conducted a census and toured the facility.
The current facility sketch was reviewed. The licensee confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway bathroom are accessible to children in care. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible through the use of a baby gate, doorknob spinners, and adhesive strap locks.
The purpose of today’s visit was to evaluate and clear the use of the partial backyard (Nuevo patio de juego/New playground as labeled in the updated facility sketch) as an area for providing care. The outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazards. This area of the backyard contains two large canopies providing shade, children’s play structures, toys, grass, and an area designated for younger children.
LPA obtained an updated facility sketch and confirmed with the licensee that accessible areas for children now include the kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway bathroom, and the partial backyard (Nuevo patio de juego/New playground). LPA approves the use of this area of the backyard (Nuevo patio de juego/New playground). On 06/22/2026, this area is approved for use by children in care.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with Licensee Brenda Alcazar. Appeal rights were provided.
