| LPA observed that Licensee did not have a Rescue Pole. Citation has been issued. Licensee is to obtain a Rescue Pole with a body hook that meets the minimum length of 12 feet.
LPA reminded Licensee to conduct a daily inspection of all safety features and equipment before opening the facility and LPA verified that Licensee maintains a daily inspection log of the pool.
All firearms and ammunition are stored and locked separately. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There are two fireplaces in the home located in the Living Room and Family Room and is made inaccessible by glass doors. Licensee was reminded of potential burn risks by use of fireplaces inside the home and Licensee was reminded to ensure children’s safety. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number on record is correct.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
There is one pet dog at the facility, and Licensee understands that they are responsible for any actions or behaviors from the pet.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training had expired on 10/04/25 and Licensee stated that they will renew their Mandated Reporter Training and provide the Department with their updated certificate. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 10/19/27. A review of records indicates that Licensee has immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
