25 | On 7/17/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli met with Applicant, Virginia Barragan for a pre-licensing inspection. Applicant, her husband, and two minor children reside in the home. Background clearances are discussed and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults currently living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance.
Facility was inspected inside and outside as shown on the facility sketch and the following items were discussed:
- This is a two story, two bedrooms and two bathrooms home and upstairs area will be off-limits to the day-care children. There is a gate at the bottom of the stairs making upstairs area inaccessible. Care and supervision will be provided in family room, living room (day care room), dining room and downstairs bathroom. Off-limit rooms/ closets area made inaccessible by the use of a child proof safety gate and door security guards.
- There is a fireplace in the family room that applicant states it will not be used during day-care hours. There is central air heating/cooling ventilation for safety and comfort and a Through-the-Wall air conditioner unit in the day care room.
- LPA observed in the day care room, child size furniture, safe toys, and books for the children. There is a diaper changing table, an infant swing and a high chair. There is a flat screen television and a parents board mounted onto the wall. Children will nap in the day care room on cots. Infants will nap in play yards. Applicant understands she is to supervise children at all times. LPA provided applicant with Individual Sleeping Plan and Safe Sleep handout.
- Facility has 2A10BC fire extinguisher that is mounted onto the day care room wall. There is a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm and first aid kit in place.
