25 | On 10/03/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Octavia Nolan conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by Licensee Silvia Martinez. Also present was Licensee’s fiancé. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Sunday 22 hours a day. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 559-403-8011. There were no daycare children present during the inspection.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a two-story home, and stairs are gated when children under age 5 years old are present. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, dining room, living room, and daycare room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a baby gate. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Safe toys and play equipment were observed and are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There was no proof of fire drills being conducted and documented with the date and time every six months; therefore, a deficiency was cited.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There are pets in the home. Licensee owns a small dog that is kept inaccessible from children. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by |
