25 | On 09/05/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Octavia Nolan conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by Licensee Monica Perales. Also present was licensee’s assistant and fiance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 803-4691. Licensee provides meals to the children in care.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. Census was taken and there were five daycare children present. Current facility sketch (LIC 999A) was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway restroom are used for providing childcare and accessible to the daycare children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible to the daycare children by baby gates and plastic doorknob covers. There is a fireplace located in the dining room, but it is made inaccessible to the children in care by a glass cover. Licensee stated that the fireplace will not be in use during daycare hours. Licensee stated there are firearms in the home; LPAs observed that firearms and ammunitions are locked and stored separately. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are inaccessible.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the date and time every six months.
Safe toys and play equipment were observed and are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. There are pets in the home. Licensee has a dog and pig in the backyard, which is inaccessible to daycare children. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. |
