25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and was met by Licensee Maria Heredia. The licensee’s assistant was also present. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday from 4:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
LPA toured the inside and outside of the home, and a census was taken. The facility sketch was reviewed and confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and front yard are accessible to children in care. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible using a baby gate and doorknob spinners.
There is no swimming pool or any other bodies of water on the premises. All firearms and ammunition are stored separately and locked. No poisons were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items are stored safely and made inaccessible to children.
The home has one fireplace located in the living room; it is secured with a glass door and remains unused during daycare hours. The home contains a functioning 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single-level home with no stairs. Safe toys and age-appropriate play equipment were observed. The home has working telephone service, and the LPA verified the phone number. Licensee ensures that children are supervised at all times and understands that children may never be left in parked vehicles. The fenced backyard is off-limits and secured with a lock. Licensed capacity is being maintained.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and confirmed that required emergency information is on file. The licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training is valid through 03/24/2027. The licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (American Red Cross) expires 03/16/2027. Records indicate that all employees and volunteers have required immunization documentation for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
