25 | On 10/10/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Octavia Nolan conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Manuela Romero. Also present was licensee’s assistant. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 559-410-7092. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. A census was taken and there are three daycare children present. This is a single level home and there are no stairs. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, living room #1, living room #2 (daycare room), dining room, hallway bathroom are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a doorknob spinners. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Safe toys and play equipment were observed and are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.
There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the date, time, and how many children are present every six months.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. Licensee stated there are firearms in the home. LPA observed that firearms and ammunition are locked and stored separately. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
