25 | On 12/12/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli met with Applicant, Virginia Reyes for a pre-licensing inspection. Applicant, her husband, and four minor children reside in the home. Background clearances are discussed and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults currently living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance or exemption.
Facility was inspected inside and outside as shown on the facility sketch and the following items were discussed:
- This is a two story, five bedrooms and three bathrooms home and upstairs area will be off-limits to the day-care children. There is a gate at the bottom of the stairs making upstairs area inaccessible. Care and supervision will be provided in the living room, family room, formal dining room, dining room, kitchen, downstairs bedroom (day care room), and downstairs bathroom. Off-limit rooms/closets are made inaccessible by the use of lever locks.
- There is a fireplace in the family room that applicant states will or will not be used during day-care hours. There is central air heating/cooling ventilation for safety and comfort.
- LPA observed safe toys and books for the children. Children will nap in the day care room on mats. Applicant states that she will not be providing care for infants. Applicant understands she is to supervise children at all times. LPA provided applicant with Individual Sleeping Plan and Safe Sleep handout.
- Facility has fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm and first aid kit in place.
- Applicant’s Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification was completed through American Red Cross and expires on 8/5/23.
