32 | During the interviews, staff members stated that when all the children are asleep, teachers use the time to check their emails, manage Class Dojo, and prepare lesson plans. Staff also revealed that in some classes, there are either two teachers, a teacher with an assistant, or just one teacher supervising the napping children. Observations and interviews indicated that there are no cameras in the rooms.
During the LPA`s visits, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) observed a teacher and a teacher’s assistant supervising 7 napping children. According to the sign-in sheets for preschool room #102, one teacher supervises the children for 30 minutes while the other staff member takes a lunch break. There is a small sofa in room #102 and the director stated that before COVID, a staff member used to nap in the room while another staff member supervised the children, but that staff member is no longer employed at the facility. During the interviews, there were no disclosures related to these allegations.
Based on LPA`s observations, interviews, and records review, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. No citations issued at this time .
