25 | On 06/04/2024 at 9:00 AM an Unannounced Required – 3 Year Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. LPA announced purpose of visit and initially met with Assistant Director. Facility Representative (FR) Claudine Douglas, Director, arrived shortly after LPA arrival and provided guided tour of the facility both indoors and outdoors. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 140, per FR they currently have 135 enrolled. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The facility is made up of 10 classrooms located in two buildings. LPA observed Rms 1-7 in stand alone building and Rms 13-15 classrooms to be in building across. At the initial start of the site visit LPA observed Rm-1 to have 13 children with two staff, Rm-2 to have 12 children with two staff, Rm-3 to have 13 children with two staff, Rm-4 to have 13 children with two staff, Rm-5 to have 12 children with two staff, Rm-6 to have 13 children with two staff, Rm-7 to have ten children with two staff, Rm-13 to have 15 children with two staff, Rm-14 to have 15 children with two staff, and Rm-15 to have 13 children with two staff. Teacher-child ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Sign-in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed. Facility uses electronic sign in/out procedures and LPA observed children present signed in electronically at time of inspection. Total census during visit was 129 children and 20 staff.
Beginning at 9:05 AM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in each classroom. LPA observed surface of classrooms to be safe and clean and child size tables and chairs available for children well maintained. LPA observed a variety of toys available that are well maintained free of loose and sharp parts and an area available for quiet play. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Mats were inspected. LPA observed mats stored outside by classroom doors and inside classrooms. Per FR, linens are provided by the families and taken home weekly. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Per FR, children bring personal water bottles from home which is refilled by filtered drinking fountains, LPA observed
