32 | LPA Garcia entered bathroom accessible to the children, and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA did not observed hazardous items accessible to the children. LPA did not observe hazardous materials. LPA reminded licensee that shampoos, conditioners, etc. are considered hazardous and are to be made inaccessible to the children. LPA observed the restroom to be in clean operable condition.
LPA Garcia asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, or weapons. The licensee stated that there are no pets, no poisons, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe, no poisons, no firearms or weapons. The licensee was informed that if any poisons (ex; Drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock, and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately. Licensee stated the dog is kept isolated from the day care children.
LPA Garcia inspected the back yard and observed toys and other age- appropriate materials for the children. The back yard is surrounded by 2 property walls (concrete block). The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards (concrete). For outdoor water drinking, the children have access to bottled water dispenser and can refill as needed.
LPA Garcia observed a 3A40BC fire extinguisher located in the playroom and the valve on the green, and serviced on 8/21/25. LPA advised licensee that the fire extinguisher must be re-purchased or serviced on a yearly basis and provide purchase receipt. LPA observed the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in the hallway ceiling in the main home. The licensee tested the dual carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPA Garcia heard the sounds and are operable. LPA observed the first aid complete and stored in the playroom and is made inaccessible to the children. For ill isolation, licensee stated the children wait in a corner until parents pick up the child. The last disaster drill was conducted on 2/23/26. LPA observed facility roster completed.
LPA Garcia observed licensee’s CPR/ First Aid certification dated 1/5/25. Health and Safety certification is dated 10/11/25 and 10/12/25, LPA observed Child Abuse Mandated Reporter (AB 1207) dated 8/22/27. LPA observed proof of immunizations for licensee against Pertussis, Measles, TB and Influenza. Licensee was advised that the mandated reporter training must be completed every 2 years, and is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com
