13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vasallo initiated a complaint investigation for the allegation listed above. Due to the situation surrounding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and to implement mitigation measures, today’s complaint investigation was conducted telephonically with Fern Key, administrator.
The investigation consisted of the following: Conducted telephone interview with administrator, Staff #1 (S1) and Resident #1 (R1).
The investigation revealed the following: Staff interviewed confirmed R1 had an issue with his/her room because it was close to the designated smoking area and because it was cold. Staff offered to move R1 and R1 agreed. R1 was interviewed and confirmed the issues with his/her original room. R1 confirmed staff offered to move R1 and R1 is now comfortable in the new room. Staff and R1 deny the allegation that staff refused to maintain a comfortable temperature in R1's room.
