32 | were inspected for good condition, appropriate storage, and cleanliness. Laundering of bedding is currently done weekly by an outside service. Extra bedding is on site as needed. Storage for children's belongings were inspected. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, a designated portion of each classroom is used as an isolation area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides breakfast and lunch for all children. All food is provided via the central kitchen for Plaza De La Raza. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and drinking containers / jugs are taken outdoors. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. Ed Coordinator states there are no poisons stored at the facility.
LPAs observed that there are smoke and carbon detectors in the facility and were operable on this day. Fires extinguishers were last serviced on 8/26/24, as indicated on the service tags.
The facility has a yard that is fully fenced. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard.
