25 | On 10/02/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Li conducted an unannounced Case Management Lead Exceedance inspection. A COVID 19 risk assessment was conducted. LPA met with Assistant Director Ruby Escamilla, who guided LPA on a tour. LPA observed 6 infants and 4 staff present at the facility during this inspection.
Per Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the testing of water for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs) located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing.
Facility provided facility sketch and required forms LIC 9276, LIC999 and LIC9275 and lead sampling results from water tester to LPA on 10/02/24.
On 05/28/2022, the Department received notification from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). The SWRCB report indicated the facility was inspected and samples were collected on 05/28/2022. Faucets and drinking fountain reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels were as follows:
Q – Water fountain in PK 3 (7.600 UG/L) – Water fountain is currently capped off. Water fountain is completely removed and filled in with a cap. Per assistant Director, water board testers gave lead sampling results indicating no action is needed. LPA provided water sample results that were uploaded to the state water board with a lead exceedance of 7.600 ug/l. LPA took images of capped fountain spout. No further action is needed for this outlet.
