32 | The Preschool Program has a resting area in the far corner of the classroom. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions for each program. First Aid supplies are available and complete. Drinking water was readily available indoors and outdoors in the form of a Brita Pitcher and cups for children to drink freely. In each classroom. At this time, there is a cozy corner designated as the isolation area for ill children to rest and the adult restroom will be used if needed.
Licensing staff observed all required forms/publications to be posted by the front entrance. Food menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted one week in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. The facility provides breakfast for the morning session and lunch for the afternoon session of the Preschool Program in classroom K4. The facility provides Breakfast, Lunch and snack for the HeadStart Programs in classrooms K1 & K2. All meals are prepared by Workman Elementary Cafeteria. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. LPA observed a kitchenette between K1 & K2 and a separate kitchenette in K4. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
Licensing staff observed the valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 07/10/2025, as indicated on service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. Facility has functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom that meets statutory requirements. The director states there are no weapons, firearms, or bodies of water on the premises. The last Disaster drills was conducted on 09/10/25. Reminded Manager disaster drills must be conducted at least every six months.
At 10:05am, licensing staff inspected the outdoor play area which consist of three separate areas. The outdoor area is surrounded by a chain link fence, which was observed to be at least four feet high. The playgrounds equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. LPA observed a bicycle area, sand tables, dolls, and other age-appropriate toys. The Manager states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit.
