32 | LPA Clayton conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the food storage area and observed it to be free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is to be discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. LPA Clayton reminded Director Joe that all opened food is to be labeled and dated after opening.
The CCC had the water tested and received testing results on 01/20/2023 – no lead exceedances.
LPA Clayton observed a fully charged 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher in the kitchen, and a fully charged 2A:10B:C Fire Extinguisher in the Little Nursery, a fully charged 2A:10B:C Fire Extinguisher outside of the Big Nursery, and a fully charged Fire Extinguisher outside of the House Group class. LPA Clayton observed a working smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector combo in the House Group class, a working smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector combo in the Big Nursery, and a working smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector combo in the Little Nursery. The CCC has a pull Fire Alarm on the Elementary Campus. LPA Clayton observed current disaster drill logs and an updated Disaster Plan on the Parent Board. LPA Clayton inspected 2 First Aid Kits and reminded Director to inspect the kits yearly and renew according to the dates on the contents.
LPA Clayton reviewed 5 children’s files and observed files to be in compliance as they contain current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts and all other LIC forms as required. LPA Clayton reminded Director Joe that current and up to date immunization record are required for all students enrolled in the program. Per Title 22 Regulations, the licensee shall document each child's immunizations and shall maintain such documentation in the center for as long as the child is enrolled.
LPA Clayton reviewed 5 employee files and observed CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter training certificates as required for opening and closing staff, required LIC forms and immunizations required for childcare providers.
Director Joe was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
