25 | On 8/24/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lillian Casillas conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Licensee, Yasmeen Chunara, and toured the indoor and outdoor of the facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 6:00pm.
This facility includes 3 classrooms (1 classroom is divided into 2), 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, and 2 outdoor playgrounds. LPA observed 59 children with 10 staff.
Classroom 1 is divided into 2 classrooms (Hibiscus and Sunflower) and are dedicated to 3 and 4 year olds. In these classrooms, LPA observed age-appropriate furniture and learning materials, as well as 1 bathroom with 3 toilets and 4 sinks. The kitchen can be accessed via classroom 1. Facility provides snacks and children eat at their desks. Classroom 2 is called Zinnia and is dedicated to 2 and 3 year olds. In classroom 2, LPA observed age-appropriate furniture and learning materials, as well as 1 bathroom with 3 toilets and 3 sinks. Classroom 3 is called Lavender and is dedicated to 3 and 4 year olds. In classroom 3, LPA observed age-appropriate furniture and learning materials, as well as 1 bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 sinks. Drinking water is available both in all classrooms and outdoor play areas. Outdoor play area 1 and 2 are large and include age-appropriate play equipment. LPA observed two picnic tables underneath a shaded area as well as astro-turf throughout. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The administrative office is the designated isolation area.
LPA observed functioning fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are stored in the kitchen, which is inaccessible to children.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete. All staff are training in CPR/First-Aid. Facility maintains a ratio of 1 teacher supervising no more than 12 children in care. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day.
