Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to investigate the above allegations. LPA met with Director Katherine Lozano who provided assistance during the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews with 15 children and eight (8) staff. LPA also made surveilled observations of care, observerved snacks served to children and observed menus and food provisions. In addition, LPA conducted interviews with outside individuals (connected to the facility). LPA received no disclosures or observed any action or received any information that could substaintiate that staff handles daycare children in a rough manner and staff did not provide a safe and comfortable environment.
In regards to food service, LPA observed a decent portion of snacks during a suprise visit (prior to the allegation being discussed). LPA also received no disclosures from interviews (adult and children) that the snacks provided were not adequate. Continued...

Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur. Therefore, at this time the allegations are Unsubstantiated.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. This report along with a copy of the appeal rights was provided. Exit interview was conducted with Director Katherine Lozano.
