 On 5/24/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ranita Richmond conducted an unannounced Case Management Incident Inspection for the Child Care Center for incident reported on 5/21/24. LPA Richmond met with Administrator Shatoune Shepard. LPA Richmond toured the facility indoors and outdoors and observed 9 children in care, being supervised and cared for appropriately by 2 fingerprint cleared staff members. Facility hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm. CCC provides meals, snacks, and water.

Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. All children are under visual supervision of a teacher at all times. The CCC is in compliance with Title 22 regulations regarding Staff to Student ratios.

There are no swimming pools, ponds, or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked cabinet area.

LPA Richmond observed 6 (six) fully charged fire extinguishers throughout the classrooms, hallways, and kitchen. The carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are wired to the Pull Fire Alarm system. The Fire Alarm system was last inspected and tested in April 2024.

All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA Richmond inspected the classrooms and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and playground equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards.

LPA conducted interviews with administrator and staff. LPA unable to interview child involved in UIR due to not present at site today.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited today.

Exit interview conducted, and report was reviewed with Administrator Shatoune Shepard.

A Notice of Site Visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days
