25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year Inspection. LPA met with Lead Teacher Lisa Gomez and later Director Jeanette Perucho who assisted analyst with a tour of the facility. This is a Preschool Program serving children ages two (2) through six years old. The current hours of operation are: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 5:30pm. The preschool program (indoors and outdoors) is physically separate from a Church on the premises.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. LPA observed the following: Rainbow Room (3 Teachers, 21 children); CareBear Room: (2 Teachers, 18 children outside); East Sunshine Room (2 Teachers, 10 children), West Sunshine Room (1 Teacher 10 children) LPA inspected classrooms, outdoor areas, furniture and equipment for good repair. LPA observed telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation to be satisfactory. Children have adequate cubby storage for their belongings. Napping cots are stored appropriately with bedding removed. The facility provides sheets and blankets that are laundered weekly by household. LPA observed drinking water with drinking cups readily available in the classrooms. Age appropriate restrooms, sinks and toilets were inspected for good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, safety and sanitation. All available toilets and sinks are in operable condition. LPA reminded Director to make items such as hand sanitizer, cleaners, lotions, sunscreen, and similar items inaccessible to children at all times. The indoor classrooms have surfaces that appear to be clean and safe and there are age appropriate toys and reading material for children to use.
All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present in the facility (fire alarm hardwired electrically). Hazardous items including medicine and cleaning compounds are stored in inaccessible areas such as storage rooms and office cabinets. The office is used as an isolation area for ill children and portable cots are available if necessary. Parents are contacted immediately if children are ill. Director indicated there are no weapons or bodies of water and LPA did not observe any. LPA strongly advised staff to monitor exits doors in the Rainbow Room which lead to areas outside the facility.
