32 | Based on parent and assistant interviews, there are no concerns with the care and supervision provided by Licensee. One parent stated they have heard Licensee tell a child "no", but have not witnessed any harsh discipline methods, including physical discipline. Another parent stated if they had any suspicion that their child or another child was physically disciplined, their child would not be in care at the home.
Based on child interviews, children in care like to play at the home. They play with the toys available and practice pretend play outside.
On 7/27/26, LPA interviewed Licensee. Licensee reported that a child knocked over a lid of a compost bucket. Flies and fleas came out of the bucket and landed on the child so Licensee brushed them off the child's body. When Licensee demonstrated how they were brushing the flies and fleas off the child on themselves, LPA heard a light impact noise when Licensee's hand landed on their own arm before they brushed it down their arm. Licensee stated they have since made sure the bucket lid was tight on the compost bucket. LPA checked the current contents of the compost bucket. LPA noted there were fruit peels inside. No fleas or flies were observed.
Based on LPAs' observations on 7/27/26, children play with each other and Licensee. Children in care smile at, and laugh with Licensee while interacting. LPA observed a child bump into a wall while playing, then seek out Licensee for comfort. There are no security cameras in the outdoor play area.
Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation, which included interviews with relevant parties, and information collected and reviewed from pertinent parties, there is insufficient evidence regarding the allegation. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the above alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is found to be unsubstantiated.
No deficiencies are issued today.
