25 | On August 6th, 2026, at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and was met by licensee, Nancy Garcia. The above daycare has 13 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there were 12 enrolled children present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible via a children’s safety gate and a locked door. This one-story home was inspected as follows: back yard, kitchen, living room area, and one bathroom. All poisons and cleaning supplies are under the sink in the kitchen behind a children’s safety lock in a cabinet and are inaccessible to children in care. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. The facility maintains first aid supplies that include band-aids, gauze, ice/ cold packs, thermometer, tweezers, and scissors. These are stored in a locked cabinet in the living room area and are inaccessible to children in care. Medication is kept in a locked cabinet in the living room area and is out of reach of children in care. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is (310) 406-5163 The day care play area is in the back yard, and living room area of the home. The children reside here while in care. There are locked doors and safety gates keeping the children in the day care area. There are mats and cribs, for the children to sleep or rest on. The Daycare is open from 7AM-5:30PM Mon-Fri. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA did not observe any pools or bodies of water on the premises. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid Training expires November 21st, 2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis. The licensee prepares breakfast, snacks, and lunches for children who are enrolled at the daycare. Additionally, the licensee prepares a menu of food to be served on a weekly basis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
