Storage for children's belongings, bathrooms facilities, and isolation areas were inspected. The isolation area for children who are ill is Room 7, supervised and away from other children in care. LPAs observed a cot available for children if needed.
Age-appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, safety, and sanitation. LPAs observed bathroom to have operable toilet/sink and adequate toileting supplies for children in care. There are 6 toilets and 6 sinks available for children’s use. No hazards observed. LPA observed cubbies with wooden toys, puzzles, books, and other appropriate toys to be clean and free of hazards at time of inspection. LPA observed carpets and age-appropriate tables and chairs in each classroom. LPA observed main first aid kit mounted in the hallway, and each classroom has a set of supplies.
Snack/lunch menus were reviewed and observed posted. Food is prepared in the elementary cafeteria and brought over to the preschool. LPA observed the kitchen area, food preparation area, and food storage area to be clean and free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. Drinking water is provided via water pitchers and disposable cups. LPA confirmed Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were present and determined to be in operable condition. Fire extinguishers were observed as being serviced on November 6, 2025. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible to children. Disaster drill log observed, with last drill conducted on February 23, 2026, per observation.
Beginning at 12:10 PM, outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age-appropriateness. LPAs observed surface of outdoor play areas to be safe and maintained. LPAs observed toys available for children. Required shade and fencing were inspected. LPAs advised FR that the children need to be within direct care and supervision, including visual supervision of the teacher(s) at all times. The children have access to drinking via water pitchers and disposable cups during outside play. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water; no bodies of water or hazards observed.
Children and staff records were reviewed. Children’s records were reviewed for completeness and documented on the LIC 857. Staff records were documented on the LIC 859. Role and responsibilities of being a Mandated Reporter was reviewed. 1 out of 5 staff present have proof of the AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate on file, deficiency cited. There is at least one staff member trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. CPR card expires on 1/17/28 for Staff member #1. Facility has completed required lead testing on 7/1/23 and did not have any exceedances.
