On October 12, 2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Monique Ayala and Enjoli Maeweather conducted an unannounced case management inspection at the above facility. A COVID 19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. LPAs arrived at the facility at 8:15 am and met with director, Isabel Trejo who provided a tour of the facility. There were 22 children and 4 staff present during the inspection.

The purpose of today's inspection is to go over the water lead test results received on 10/03/2022. Results indicate that 2 water sources had action level exceedance of lead. The water fountain in the beaver room had a lead result of 18 and the carrot room water fountain tested at 17. Per director, the water fountains had not been used in over 2 years due to COVID-19. LPAs observed that the water fountains were not accessible through bags and tape to make them inaccessible to children in care and furniture blocking the water fountains. The water fountains located in the beaver and carrots classroom has not been shut off due to the director needed to flush the fountains four times a day. Per director the facility has added filters to the water fountains and need to be flushed for 3 weeks prior to usage. Lead company will come back to the facility on 11/04/2022 to retest the fountains. LPAs spoke with the director who stated that the children bring their own their own water bottles from home, and the facility also provided water bottles. Director stated that if the children need more water there is filtered water in the kitchen that was also tested but did not exceed lead levels. LPAs took pictures of the water fountains during the inspection. Director will email LPA Ayala completed LIC9275 and LIC9276 by 10/14/2022 to obtain inspectors signature. LPAs received a copy of facility sketch indicating where the water fountains are located.

There are not deficiencies being cited today, 10/12/2022.

An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was provided to director along with Notice of Site Visit.
