32 | Director states that the private school program typically operates in a classroom upstairs but this Summer they have been operating from June 29 until July 24, 2026. Director state this is the first time they have operated this type of program. Director states this is the last day of the program, and the school age children will be picked up at 2:00pm. Director states that due to staff shortage they brought the school age program downstairs to preschool room 103.
Director states that school age program and preschool program do not share the restrooms and they have a staggered schedule for using the playground. Licensing Staff observed outdoor play schedule posted in Director’s office at time of inspection (Photos taken).
Licensing staff informed Director that at this time, the licensed preschool classroom is being used by private school age program, which means they are operating outside their license limitations. Per license comments, license limits operation in licensed classrooms to 2 years old until entry to kindergarten. Per Director, ages of children in Room 103, which is a licensed classroom, is from 5 to 12 years old. In addition, Director states that school age children do use same outdoor play area as preschool children due to there being shade in preschool play yard, but at separate times and never commingle.
Licensing staff informed Director that a waiver would be required for the use of the rooms and areas that are being shared by licensed preschool and private school age program. Licensing staff discussed waiver requirements and procedures for applying for a waiver.
Based on LPA's observations and interviews which were conducted, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be substantiated.
Based on this information, the following deficiencies on the attached LIC 9099 D are being cited in accordance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. Deficiencies that are being cited need to be cleared to protect the children’s health & safety.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
