32 | On Friday September 4, 2026 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Joanne Solorio Campos conducted an unannounced annual inspection and initially met with Gilbert Brebes, Director who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a Co-op program that serves children ages 2.5 to 5 years old and takes place mostly outdoors and has one enclosed classroom The program is a half-day program and operates Monday-Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm . There are currently 26 children enrolled. LPA did not observe any children as they were closed for the holiday weekend. All areas identified on the facility sketch were toured and inspected.
Sign in and out takes place at the main entrance area. Director stated no firearms, weapons, poisons nor bodies of water are located in the premises and LPA did not observe any of the above-mentioned. LPA did observe a chicken coop and Director stated they have 2 chickens. Director stated that they have 2 children with severe food allergies and medication. LPA observed the ill isolation area to take place in the library area inside the classroom.
The following documents were posted in a prominent, publicly accessible area at the facility: Facility License, Notification of Parents' Rights (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Menu, and Earthquake Preparedness (LIC 9148). PUB 269 Child Passenger System Poster, and Daily Schedule.
LPA observed furniture, manipulatives, toys, games, art materials, and books made accessible to the children to be age-appropriate and free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA observed a cubby for children to store their personal belongings. Water was readily available for children. Children do not nap in the facility as it is a half day program. Licensing staff observed several trash bins with lids in the facility. LPA observed the children’s restroom, located in the classroom to have working toilets, sinks, hand soap dispenser and paper towels. During time of inspection, LPA observed cleaning solutions, mainly vinegar based, stored in the kitchen underneath the sink.
LPA observed the fire extinguishers in the classroom and the valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguishers indicating fully charged. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were observed and not tested on this visit due to the alarms being hard-wired to the system. The last emergency drill was conducted on 06/3/2026. First aid kit supplies are kept inside the classroom, and LPA observed the kit to be fully equipped
Licensing staff observed the outdoor play area be fully fenced. The outdoor play equipment was observed to be free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. The Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb a fall. Drinking water is readily available outdoors. There is adequate shade in the play area via large canopy, trees and hip shade roof. |
