Menus are posted one week in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available for parents to grab. Per facility representative, they provide children with meals and snacks. LPA reminded facility representative that Full-day programs shall offer midmorning and a midafternoon snack. LPAs observed that the food preparation area is free from litter.
At approximately 12:07pm LPAs observed cheese, cereal, and pasta in packaging without labels to indicate when the foods expires. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. Per facility representative, they will start labeling the open packages to keep track of the dates.
Children’s files were reviewed for completeness. During file review, LPA observed that two out of two children’s files reviewed were complete. Children's roster was reviewed and is current. LPA observed that parents sign children in and out via sign in sheets.
Staff files were reviewed for completeness. During file review conducted on 08/07/2026, LPA observed that not all staff files were complete. All staff have the required education, and valid pediatric first aid and CPR AED. The facility representative was missing a valid mandated reporter completion certificate. Per facility representative, they did not complete the training. This is a potential safety risk to persons in care. LPA reminded facility representative that mandated reporter training must be completed every 2 years. Mandated reporter training is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16.
