25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an announced case management licensee-initiated inspection. Licensing staff met with Child Development Specialist, Patty Linares. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 3pm. This facility has not reopened since the closure of the Covid 19 pandemic in 2019. This facility is located on the campus of Evans Adult School. There are no shared areas between the Adult School and preschool program.
This is a preschool program that is currently licensed to care for 30 children. The licensee has requested to remove the Preschool capacity and add a new Toddler Option Program with the capacity of 16 serving ages 18 to 36 months. There were no children present during this inspection. The preschool program operates out of one classroom (Classroom 129). LPA inspected the classroom and observed age-appropriate furniture. Individual storage space was available for each child located inside the classroom. Toys were observed to be clean and safe. There are 2 toilets and 3 sinks available within the classroom. LPA observed the facility to have water accessible via water dispenser attached to the sink located in the classroom. Licensing staff was guided through the outdoor activity areas. The outdoor playground is fully fenced. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment. The outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition and age appropriate. A sufficient shaded area was observed; trees outdoors provide natural shade.
The Department has received an approved Fire Clearance. At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. The preschool capacity will be reduced to zero and the toddler option program will be licensed at the capacity of 16. The licensee must contact the Regional Office prior to offering services to preschool age group. Upon return to the Regional Office, the license will be updated to reflect the program change and capacity.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representative. A notice of site visit was given to facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. |
