Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lilia Hernandez conducted an unannounced case management inspection on 07/30/2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 2:25PM and met with Armando Inclan, Principal, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 13 children with 11 staff present upon arrival.

The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the construction completion of Phase One of the Nature Explore outdoor play yard reported to the Department on 07/17/2024. During todays visit, Principal disclosed Phase One is a portion of the outdoor play yard was made accessible to children on 07/30/2024.

Outdoor Play measurements are:

Outdoor total measurements: 9300 sq ft divided by 75 sq ft = 124 children.

Per Principal, classrooms will follow a staggered schedule for outdoor play time. LPA was provided with a copy of the outdoor schedule.

LPA observed a portion of the outdoor play yard fenced off and inaccessible to children. Per Principal, Phase Two of the outdoor play yard is under construction with an estimated date of completion for November 2024. LPA was provided with the temporary evacuation plan until Phase Two of the outdoor play yard is complete.

LPA observed Room 1 and Room 2 temporarily inaccessible to children. Principal disclosed that installation of new storage cabinets began today and installation will be completed at end of day. LPA also observed the completion of children restrooms in Room 1. Facility installed an additional toilet and sink. Facility now has a total of 11 toilets and 9 sinks for children to use.

Construction of the additional adult restroom near the facility entrance is also complete and available for adult use.

LPA advised Principal to report construction updates to the Department. LPA will conduct a follow up visit to verify capacity of the facility has not been affected by construction and alterations.

There were no deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Armando Inclan, Principal.
