25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Roxana Lopez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Principal, Barbara Walker, who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. This is an LAUSD preschool program licensed for 162 children which operates Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Per the Principal there are 146 children enrolled.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The following staff was present during this inspection: Room 1A: Staff #1, Staff #2, and Staff #3 with 20 children were observed to be outside for outdoor playtime; Room 1B: Staff #4, Staff # 5 and Staff # 6 with 18 children, Room 2: Staff #6, Staff #7, Staff #8 with 19 children; Room 3: vacant due to construction; Room 4: Staff #9, Staff #10, Staff # 11 and Staff #12 with 22 children; Room 5: Staff #13, Staff # 14, Staff # 15, Staff # 16 and Staff #17 with 21 children. Additionally LPA observed Staff # 18, Staff # 19 and Staff # 20 outside with 24 children. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher always. The licensed facility is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. ------------- pg. 1 of 4 ---------------------------------
