Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alicia Mooberry conducted an Unannounced Required Annual inspection to the above facility. At 1:35pm LPA arrived at the facility and met with Sascha Horton, Assistant and informed the purpose of the inspection. LPA toured the facility and observed seven (7) napping children present. Licensee Resha Burton arrived at the facility at 1:50pm, LPA provided the inspection Entrance Checklist, LIC 126.

LPA inspected rooms and areas on the facility sketch in which child-care services are provided and to which children have access. Per licensee the hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:00am-6:00pm. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted. All adults present have criminal record clearance. Licensee states that there are currently eight (8) children enrolled.

The home is a one story, 3-Bed, 2-Bath home. This facility is center based structured.


Areas used for day-care: Living Room, Family room (back), 1 bedroom, restroom in the family room, and back yard.

Off limit areas include: Kitchen with laundry area, 2 bedrooms, bathroom in hallway, garage, shed in back yard, side yards leading to the front of home.

Detergents and cleaning supplies were observed in locked cabinets in kitchen and in the laundry area located in the kitchen. Kitchen is kept off limits by safety gates. Fire extinguisher has been serviced on 6/21/22. There is an operational smoke detector and carbon monoxide in the living room and hallway. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and materials.

Licensee has the Facility License, LIC 394 Parent’s Rights poster, and other appropriate forms posted on wall in the living room. First Aid/CPR certificate are valid thru 3/12/24. Licensee has a working telephone. The home has central air and heating for safety and comfort. ------Page 1 - Report Continues

LPA inspected the backyard, there are age appropriate play structures and cushioning. LPA observed a raised wood box planter located in backyard where the children play is tilting to one side and can possibly fall, which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

The children's roster was reviewed and is current. Disaster drill log was also available during today’s inspection, last disaster drill conducted in 2021. Licensee was reminded that disaster/fire drills need to be conducted every 6 month.

LPA observed the required postings at the entrance to facility including the Facility License, PUB 394 Parents Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness checklist.

LPA observed cleaning products in locked kitchen cabinet under sink. Licensee was reminded to ensure cleaning products, detergents and items that are harmful to children in care are always maintained inaccessible to children in care.

The bathrooms that children use was observed to be clean and free of hazards.


The home maintains telephone service via cell phone.

Facility does not have a pool or similar bodies of water. Per licensee there are currently no pets in the home. Per licensee, there are no weapons present on the premises.

Licensee understands that poisons must be locked, not only inaccessible to children.

Children’s records were reviewed according to LIC 126 Inspection Entrance Checklist. Licensee records were reviewed, Licensee completed the Mandated Reporter AB1207 in 2021.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. LPA informed licensee of the new Safe sleep regulations. LPA discussed PIN 20-24-CCP and provided a copy including LIC 9227 Infant Sleep Plan for infants under 12 months. Per licensee and based on record reviews, there are currently no infants in care.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.

LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
