32 | Per licensee, the front yard, backyard, and garage are off-limits to children. LPA was then guided to the ADU where LPA observed age-appropriate, materials, and equipment for children. The ADU has a small kitchen and 1 bathroom. Per licensee, the kitchen is rarely used and is off-limits to children. LPA toured the bathroom and observed it to be safe and in sanitary conditions. The first aid kit was observed to be available.
At 02:08 p.m. smoke and carbon monoxide detector were observed to be operable. The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully and was purchased on 10/08/25, per the attached receipt. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually.
LPA observed the following required posted documentation in the living room and ADU: Facility License, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form, LIC 610- Emergency Disaster Plan and PUB 269 California Child Passenger Safety Law. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill. Last drill conducted was on 02/02/26. Children’s roster was available for review during the inspection.
Per licensee, food is provided to children. Licensee was advised that if food is brought from the children’s homes, all containers must be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. The facility has a working telephone, ventilation, and heating.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. According to the licensee, there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water in the home.
Children and staff records were reviewed. LPA reviewed 9 children’s files and observed 1 out of 9 children were missing LIC 9227. According to the licensee, the form was given to the parent and should have been in the file. LPA provided a technical violation. LPA reviewed 2 staff files are were observed to be complete. Children and staff names were documented on the LIC 811, and a copy was provided to the licensee during the inspection.
