25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 05/05/26 at 01:58 p.m. At approx. 02:15 p.m., LPA met with licensee’s assistant/son Oscar Mariona who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 08 children present in the home. Also present in the home was the licensee Susana Mariona, licensee’s assistant (A3), and licensee’s husband (A2). According to the licensee, 12 children are enrolled; however, children’s schedules vary. Operation hours are Monday – Friday 06:30 a.m. – 06:30 p.m. LPA conducted the inspection in Spanish.
This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, garage, front yard, and back yard. According to the licensee, children use the living room, dining room, garage, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and front yard. Family members residing in the home are 3 adults and 0 minors. According to the licensee, there are no pets on the premises.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in the living room where LPA observed furniture. Tour continued to the dining room where LPA observed a dining room table with chairs. There is also a barricaded heater in the dining room. LPA was then guided to the garage where LPA observed tables, chairs, age-appropriate toys, materials, and equipment for children. The garage has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom that is used by children. LPA observed 3 children napping in the bedroom. LPA toured the children’s bathroom and observed it safe and in sanitary conditions. The garage is equipped with a smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguisher, and AC/heater.
At 03:06 p.m., smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed to be operable. The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 03/04/26, per the attached service tag. The licensee has a first aid kit readily available.
