25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced random annual inspection to the above facility. At 8:45am, LPA met with licensee Rosa Vizcaino. This is a large family child care home. The licensee states that they currently has 5 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 6am-6pm Monday- Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, attached garage, front yard.. The children use living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom #1, and front yard Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: office, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, attached garage. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 0 minors currently live in the home. All Persons living in the home have been identified on a confidential form All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 8:55am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, the living room was reviewed. LPA observed 1 child with 1 staff member. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. Fireplaces and open face heaters are inaccessible to prevent access by children. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. The next area reviewed was the first bedroom on the left once walking into the hallway. There was a play yard observed and age appropriate items. Per licensee, this bedroom will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. The bathroom across the hall on the right was reviewed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children.
