25 | On 07/28/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mary Silva conducted a random annual inspection at the above facility. LPA met with Licensee Irma Canal to whom the reason for the inspection was explained. LPA was led on a tour of the facility. There were four children and two assistants present during this inspection. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Large Family Child Care Home. Per licensee 12 children are currently enrolled. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-5:30 PM.
This is a single-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and den/ day care room, front yard, back yard and detached garage. Currently residing in the home are 3 adults and no minor children.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: Large Den in the rear of the home that is dedicated to day care, one bathroom located in the den and back yard. Children and families access the facility from the back yard that leads to the daycare area.
Areas off limits include: four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, detached garage, and front yard. LPAs observed a door separating the den area to the home. Licensing staff observed a decorative fountain without water in the front yard covered with a barrier making it inaccessible to children.
LPA observed the following required posted documentation in the main entry way of the facility: Facility License, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form. LPA reviewed facility records for LIC 9040- Facility Roster was observed to be current, LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan. LPA observed disaster drill conducted on 07/24/2025.
The home was observed to be clean and orderly, with central air and heating. Licensing staff observed a fireplace located in the den/daycare room barricaded by a bolted clear plexiglass and poster board. Page 1 of 3
