25 | On 6/7/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Zoraida Chica. LPA observed 4 children in care today. Licensee lives in the home with 4 adults and 1 minor child. All adults living in the home have a criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and attached garage. The garage has been converted into a play room. Licensee is aware children are not allowed to sleep, eat or toileting in the garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, bedroom #1 located near the living room, bathroom #1 located in the hall, kitchen, attached garage and outdoor side area of the home. LPA observed age appropriate toys, learning materials and equipment indoors and outdoors.
The areas that are off limits to children: bedrooms #2, #3, bathroom located in the rear bedroom, laundry room and backyard. The backyard is made inaccessible by safety gate. LPA observed a storage unit in the back yard. No bodies of water located on the premises.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the garage. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 675-6809.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
