32 | This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, den, indoor patio, front yard, back yard (fenced), detached garage. Areas accessible to children include living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms (near the kitchen and in the hallway between the bedrooms), kitchen, den, indoor patio, and back yard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include 3 bedrooms, 1-bathroom, front yard, and detached garage.
**Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours** The Applicant does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Licensee stores all medications on a top shelf in the kitchen, inaccessible to children. All knives are kept inside a kitchen cabinet that also has a child proof latch.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety and comfort of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home.
Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home. Licensee does understand that poison must be locked. The Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care. Personal Rights of children were observed by LPA at time of inspection.
Licensee states that children play outside in the yard daily. LPAs Ruiz and Nguyen toured the yard and observed a tall play structure, swing set, all in good condition, free of loose, sharp, or pointed parts. LPAs observed one large dog in the yard.
Trees, grass, shrubs, and plants are maintained. LPA reminded licensee that 100% supervision is required at all times when children are playing outside.
Licensee provides food for children in care. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, am and pm snacks.
Licensee states that a sick child can rest on the couch until their parents can pick them up and that they also will use physical distancing to keep sick children isolated.
