25 | On 07/31/2023 at 12:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Miriam Cohen conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. The purpose of the meeting was to ensure that health, safety and personal rights, as required by Title 22 Regulations governing California Family Child Care Homes, will be met by Arevik Derdzakyan, applicant. This is an application for Family Child Care Home located at 14268 Lorne Street, Panorama City, CA 91402. The applicant applied for a Large Family Child Care Home with maximum capacity of 14 children. Applicant’s old facility number was #197494563. LPA met with applicant and was guided on a tour of the facility (inside and outside). LPA reviewed the facility sketch (indoor and outdoor) and it was observed to match the physical plant of the home. Applicant's home is a one story two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a kitchen, living room, front yard, and a backyard.
The primary childcare area of the home is in the living room and the two bedrooms for daytime activities and napping. The children will utilize the bathroom located inside one of the bedrooms. LPA inspected the bathroom and did not observe any medications, toxins or cleaning compounds that would pose a risk to children in care. Outdoor play area is conducted in the front yard and backyard which are fully fenced. LPA did not observe any debris or hazards that would pose a risk to children in care.
The off-limit areas of the home include the kitchen and one of the bathrooms located in the hallway, and the laundry room. A safety gate is installed in the kitchen area making it inaccessible to children in care. There is a lock and key installed in the laundry making it inaccessible to day care children.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Hazardous materials in the kitchen and bathroom are inaccessible to children. All poisons are locked. According to the applicant, there are no weapons or firearms at the home; None were observed by LPA. During today’s inspection, LPA did not observe pets in the home. |
