25 | On 10/16/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection with Applicant, Lilit Hovakimyan. This inspection is due to an application received for a small family childcare license. Applicant resides in the home with 2 adults and 2 minor children. All adults have criminal record clearance. Applicant guided LPA on a tour of the home and intends to operate Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Applicant intends to provide breakfast, lunch dinner and am/pm snacks to children.
Applicant does not have child-care insurance. The areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a 5 bedrooms, 3 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry room and attached garage.
Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Living room, dining area, breakfast nook, kitchen, bathroom #3 and the backyard for outdoor play activities. LPA observed age appropriate safe toys, play equipment and materials for children.
The off-limits areas are as follows: All bedrooms, bathroom #1, #2, laundry room and garage. All rooms are made inaccessible by locked doors. Applicant advised the doors will remain locked during child care hours.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medication and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. The home has a fireplace that is screened and inaccessible. Applicant advised; children will nap on cots. Applicant has a smoke detector and carbon monoxide that was tested and working properly. LPA observed Fire Extinguisher purchase on 5/9/2023 located in the laundry room. LPA observed a first aid kit. Medications observed in the refrigerator located in the garage. Knives are stored in a kitchen drawer inaccessible to children. Cleaning products are kept in the garage inaccessible to children.
