25 | On 5/3/24, at 9:24AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Katrdzhyan and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Rita Ramos conducted an announced follow up Pre-Licensing Inspection. The purpose of this visit is to ensure the corrections requested during the initial Pre-Licensing Inspection (conducted on 4/16/24) had been completed by the Applicant. This is a change of location for a Large Family Child Care Home, for a Capacity of 14 children - ages 18 months to 10 years of age. The family child care home will operate Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM. Upon arrival, LPA and LPM met with Applicant / Nataliy Meiler, who guided LPA and LPM on a tour of the inside and outside of the home. LPAs observed no children in care.
During the initial Pre-licensing inspection, corrections were requested and the following items listed below require corrections;
- The fence does not completely surround the pool. The missing portion of the fence is located in front of the pool house (pictures taken), which provides direct access to the pool from the sliding doors of the living room (main home) and the windows located in bedroom 1 (main home). This correction was not completed as some areas of the fence surrounding the pool were measured to be 3 feet high and 4 feet high and do not meet Title 22 Regulation Section 102417 / Operation of a Family Child Care Home. There are palm trees approximately 4 feet high surrounding the pool, obstructing the pool from view. Also, the gate installed covering the missing portion of the fence does not swing away from the pool. LPA and LPM discussed that Fences shall be at least five feet high and shall be constructed so that the fence does not obscure the pool from view. The bottom and sides of the fence shall comply with Division 1, Appendix Chapter 4 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. In addition to meeting all of the aforementioned requirements for fences, gates shall swing away from the pool, self-close and have a self-latching device located no more than six inches from the top of the gate. During today's visit, LPM Ramos shared the bodies of water video with Applicant.
- Applicant will clean the clutter inside the detached garage /indoor play area, removing a layer of storage compartment, to ensure the safety of children. Applicant will remove the portable heaters from the Pg 1 of 2
