32 | Per Licensee, the children will use the following areas: Living room, Dining room, and bathroom (1) in the hall way. Licensee has designated Bedroom(1), Bedroom(2), Bedroom (3), Bathroom(2), Laundry room, and Garage as OFF LIMIT to the children in care. LPA observed bedroom doors with safety knob/locks making off limit areas inaccessible. The bathroom that children use is in the hall way. A toilet, a sink and a bath tub was observed. The bathroom was observed to be free of hazards. The home is equipped with a central heating/cooling system. Sleeping area for children was observed in the living room. Living room has a fireplace which has been screened to prevent access by children. Per Licensee, the fireplace will not be used. All areas identified on the facility sketch as accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. LPA observed age appropriate toys, free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed electrical covered outlets all through the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. Per licensee, there are no pets and LPA did not observe any pets at the time of visit. Per Licensee, isolation area for sick children is in the dining room. Licensee has designated the back yard as the outdoor play area for children. LPA observed artificial grass and adequate perimeter fencing through-out the yard. LPA advised Licensee that outdoor supervision is required at all times. Each family child care home shall conduct fire drills and disaster drills at least once every six months. Disaster drill log was available during today’s inspection, last disaster drill conducted on 08/13/24. Per licensee, the facility provides food for children in care (breakfast, lunch, and PM snack). Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. LPA discuss food preparation, storage and ensuring a log and information regarding dietary restrictions and allergies are kept up to date.
The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged. The smoke and carbon monoxide detector (two in one) was tested and operable at the time of visit. Per Licensee, the First Aid kit is kept in the upper kitchen cabinet, making it inaccessible to children. The First Aid kit was inventoried for necessary supplies. LPA observed tables, chairs and napping equipment. Licensee reports she has no firearms or weapons in the home. LPA also observed Licensee's and Assistant's current Pediatric CPR (Adult/Infant /Child) and Pediatric First Aid certifications (expire 10/2025) and Mandated Reporter Training (completed on 10/16/2023 and 07/19/2024). LPA observed in the living room the Parent Board with all necessary posting required ( Facility License (LIC 203), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610A), Notification of Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 394), If You see Something Say Something poster, Car Seat Safety poster). Child Care Facility Roster (LIC9040) was on file. |
