25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tatiana Bickham conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for a large family child care at the above facility on 12/30/2024 at 9:30 AM. LPA met with Applicant Guela Dalfin, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There was 1 child present when LPA arrived. Per Applicant, hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm. Applicant states they will provide care for children 18 months to 5 years of age.
This is a single home consisting of two bedrooms, one bathroom, dining room, kitchen, front yard, backyard and ADU. The home was inspected for safety, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
Areas used by children include: The living room (day-care room), bedroom #1, dining room and bathroom in the hallway adjacent to bedroom #1, and front yard. Areas off limits include: one bedrooms, kitchen, backyard and ADU. Applicant is renting the front part of the home and another person is renting the ADU located in the backyard. LPA informed Applicant, anyone living in the ADU cannot be around the day-care children unless they are fingerprinted. Off limit areas are made inaccessible by door lock/gate. Knives and other sharp utensils are locked in a kitchen cabinets and drawers. Cleaning products are made inaccessible by a lock.
The home is clean and orderly, there are outlet covers throughout the home. Smoke/carbon monoxide detector was observed, tested, and found to be operable.
Applicant has completed the required health and safety training, the Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Applicant(s) have proof of immunization against pertussis and measles, and declination letters for influenza on file. Proof of Mandated Reporter Training was also provided.
