32 | It should be noted that in the facility sketch there is an additional property/back house with a separate address. Per applicant the additional unit is not yet registered, as a separate address. The resident living in the back house is fingerprinted and LPA Morales will have her associated. LPA Morales obtained a copy of residents Driver's License as well as the LIC 9182 form. Per applicant the back house is off limits to the children in care.
These areas will be off-limits to the children in care are: the kitchen that has baby gates, the walk-in closet located in bedroom #1, the second floor that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a family room. The second floor is rendered inaccessible to the children in care by a baby gate which is installed in front of the stairwell. The front yard will also be off-limits to the children in care.
In the hallway there is a closet that has a washer and dryer, that has detergents and cleaning compounds on the top shelf, it is rendered inaccessible by a childproof latch. In the kitchen, knives are stored in the top shelf, in a locked cabinet, rendering it inaccessible to the children in care. Per applicant they will be providing food for the children.
LPAs observed the following: the home is clean and orderly. There were age-appropriate toys and play items. Applicants were informed that baby-walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and other prohibited items will not be used for children in care. It should be noted that there is an electric fireplace in the living room that does not have a screen cover. Per applicant they will purchase a screen cover. All electrical outlets have safety covers. There was a first aid kit present in the walk in closet in bedroom #1.
There is a combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the ceiling of the hallway, as well as in bedroom #1. All detectors were tested and found to be operable. The required fire extinguisher (size 2A:10-B:C) was observed in the laundry room; it was purchased in May 2024. In the living room, there is a fireplace which is screened. For napping equipment, there are 3 play yards and 12 matts.
Per applicant, there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility currently. LPA discussed that when a child shows signs of illness, they shall be separated from other children until they are picked up. The isolation area will be in the living room on a bench, separate from other children in care. Per applicants, the children will have access to the backyard. Per applicant, when children are having outside time, they will ensure 100% supervision and never leave children unattended. |
